Managing Partner

Robert L Day Headshot

Robert Day spent more than a decade as an executive at Fifth Third Processing Solutions — now Worldpay — before founding weAudit in 2009 to audit the industry he came from. Attorneys retain him as an expert witness in litigation against processors. A Forbes Business Council member and author of The Great American Heist, he has spent seventeen years finding money on merchant statements. His firm keeps none of the savings it finds.

He founded weAudit in 2009 on a principle the industry still finds uncomfortable: the firm keeps none of the savings it finds. It is his third company. Over 35 years in financial services, he has worked across investments and merchant payments, held Series 6 and 63 licenses, and is an alumnus of The Wharton School.

About Robert

Robert is widely regarded as a national authority on merchant processing costs, recognized by The National Credit Association, The Credit Research Foundation, Credit Today, Riemer+, Coleman Research Group, and DeMatteo Monness. His work has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, CNN Money, The Washington Business Journal, Yahoo Finance, and BusinessWeek, and he has appeared on Fox, ABC, NBC, and CBS affiliates. In 2014, he shared the stage with Steve Forbes at the New York Financial Summit.

He writes for Forbes and Entrepreneur on processing overbillings, financial transparency, and business strategy, and is a member of the Forbes Business Council.

In 2023, he published The Great American Heist — How Credit Card Processors Steal Businesses’ Profits, with a foreword by Kevin Harrington of Shark Tank. A special edition for CEOs and CFOs followed in 2025, written for the people who sign off on processing costs without ever seeing what’s in them. It remains one of the few accounts of merchant overbilling written by someone who worked on the inside.

Robert received the President’s Award from Fifth Third Processing Solutions in 2007 and was named a semifinalist for STL Entrepreneur of the Year in 2013. In 2019, weAudit received the BBB Torch Award for Exceptional Ethics and Service.

Outside his professional work, he has held leadership and board roles with The National Association of Credit Management (Gateway Region), Haitians Helping Haitians, Serve Saint Louis, Destiny Church, Grace Christian School, House of Zadok, Heaven Born, and Vertical Fellowship.
