SignaPay
An Irving, Texas sales organization that resells processing from Fiserv, Priority, TSYS and others, often with a “no-cost” cash discount pitch. The complaints follow one pattern: a $495 termination fee, annual and PCI fees the merchant did not expect, and charges after the account was supposedly closed.
What to know before you sign.
- A $495 termination fee, in Section 28 of the merchant agreement by SignaPay’s own account, that merchants say was never explained at signing.
- “No-cost” processing with costs. Complainants describe a cash discount pitch followed by monthly, annual and PCI fees, including non-compliance charges of about $80 a month.
- Charges after you leave. Merchants describe being billed for months after cancelling, because a cancellation form they were never given had not been completed.
Who you are signing with
SignaPay is an independent sales organization based in Irving, Texas, operating since 2008. It does not process payments itself; it resells processing from several processors, reported to include First Data, now Fiserv, Priority and TSYS, through multiple sponsor banks. Which processor holds your account depends on what you were sold, and so do your terms.
Fee practices
SignaPay does not publish pricing. What reviewers and complainants report:
| Term | As reported |
|---|---|
| Early termination fee | Up to $495, cited by SignaPay in complaint responses |
| Annual fee | About $89 to $99 |
| PCI compliance fee | About $99, plus monthly non-compliance fees when validation lapses |
| Pricing | Tiered or interchange-plus, set account by account |
| Cash discount programs | Marketed as no-cost processing |
Sources: SignaPay’s own responses to Better Business Bureau complaints, Trustpilot, and terms as reported by independent review sites including Merchant Alternatives, CardFellow and CardPaymentOptions, credited by name. SignaPay does not publish pricing; your agreement shows what applies to you.
The no-cost pitch is worth special care. A cash discount or surcharge program moves the card cost to your customers, but the account fees stay with you, and a program built wrong breaks card network rules that are now enforced with fines. See the cash discount program guide and surcharge laws by state.
Complaints
SignaPay’s Better Business Bureau profile shows 13 complaints in the last three years, and its BBB and Trustpilot reviews are mostly negative. Most satisfied merchants never leave a review, so the ones who do are usually the ones who were hurt. The complaints describe a $495 to $500 termination fee at cancellation, months of overcharging, PCI fees for a program the merchant was never enrolled in, and long waits to reach anyone. SignaPay responds to complaints and has waived the termination fee in some cases, while pointing to the signed agreement in others.
Regulatory and legal
We found no Federal Trade Commission or state attorney general actions against SignaPay. A 2015 lawsuit reported by reviewers did not involve merchant complaints. That earns most of the available points.
Transparency and sales channel
No published pricing, a termination fee merchants say they first learned about at cancellation, and a cancellation form they say they were never given. Sold largely through agents, some of whom complainants say promised no costs. That scores low in both categories.

Common questions
Is SignaPay legit?
Yes. SignaPay is a real independent sales organization based in Irving, Texas, in business since 2008, that resells processing from several processors. Its complaint record is consistent: a $495 early termination fee merchants say they did not expect, annual and PCI fees, and charges continuing after cancellation.
Does SignaPay charge an early termination fee?
Yes. Its merchant agreements include an early termination fee of up to $495, which SignaPay’s own complaint responses place in Section 28 of the merchant agreement. It has waived the fee in some disputed cases.

Is SignaPay’s no-cost processing really free?
No. Cash discount and surcharge programs move the card cost to your customers, and complainants say the monthly and annual fees remained. Network rules for surcharging are strict and enforced with fines, so check any program before you rely on it.
How do I cancel SignaPay?
SignaPay has told complaining merchants that cancellation requires a completed client cancellation form. Ask for the form in writing, return equipment as instructed, keep proof, and watch your bank account for debits after the closure date.
